Almost Dave: Don’t Want to Let Them Shatter My Dream

Lately, the David Wilcox mailing list has had a good deal of fun writing parodies to David's songs. I've collected the efforts on these pages. I hope you enjoy.

Don’t Want to Let Them Shatter My Dream” by DAtkin

Well I don’t look all that ragged
For the lurking I’ve done
Cause I’m weakened by the thought
That they would go and wreck my fun

As I read this weekly posting
I know that she’ll get trashed
Won’t you ease up on the jamming
Or this day could be my last

I’m a Dave Wilcox List Lurker
From the way they love to demean
And I’m afraid to make a post on this list, going nowhere
Don’t want to let them shatter my dream

No this boy needs the list to go easy
Acceptance is much more fun
A little tolerance of all our imperfections
Would cause me to engage and not run

So just toss me a bone of compassion
Give that old heart a spin
See me write
Answer
Jump into this email list
And not simply sigh and give in

I am a Dave Wilcox List Lurker
I should be polishing my home so clean
But I keep hangin’ on the hope that this list can come together
Don’t want to let them shatter my dream
STILL WAITING
Don’t want to let them shatter my dream
